Bio
Hi,
I'm Dan. I guess I have no other choice than to be a
drummer. I have tapped and beat on things all my life.
At a very early age I thoroughly annoyed my parents
by dragging out pots and pans and making music... at
least to my ears.
I
didn't actually get my first 'real' drum set until I
was 17. My brother and I and a guy named Doug started
a band called 'They', we mostly played originals, a
mix of Jimmi Hendrix, Metallica and Rush. It didn't
last very long - I actually preferred playing my own
rhythmic compositions.
Creativity and artistic ability kind of runs in my family, my mom, Cheri, used to sing in the 60's in California and is still an artist creating gorgeous mosaics now. My brother, Tom, teaches art and does some amazing fine art for various clients and galleries.
I've
played throughout the years and now at age 32 I'm not
trying to be a 'star', I just play what I feel. Some people who hear my stuff sometimes 'don't get it'
and describe it as too complex, but others seem to dig
it, so here ya go!
